Church of the Icon of the Madonna, called “Relieve my Sorrow”, in Mar’ino


This is a five-domed church with copper roofing and white-stone dome-bases. There are two bell-towers, provided with small bells and tamped bells. The church is equipped with a grand staircase with two entrance ramps and two side-staircases, as well as a full-wall image of the Icon of the Madonna, called “Relieve my Sorrow” over the front entrance to the church. The temporary altar-screen is composed of icons donated from private collections. Church consecrated by His Holiness Alexis II, Patriarch of All Russia.

Glavmosstroy’s contribution to the community has included the construction of another building – the Church of the Icon of the Madonna, called “Relieve my Sorrow”. Today Glavmosstroy can be justly proud of the fact that this church, a place for worship, repentance and for the conduct of the rites of the Holy Church open to all the parishioners of Mar’ino, has also achieved “Glavmosstroy church” status.

The Rector of the Church of the Icon of the Madonna, called “Relieve my Sorrow” is Protopresbyter Anatoliy Rodionov.
